Crossover events are nothing new in the world of Rocket League

Crossover events are nothing new in the world of Rocket League. Since the game's initial release in 2015, well-known companies such as Lamborghini have collaborated with Psyonix to include replicas of their vehicles in the game. Recently, the developers announced that a new round of DLC would be released for the game, which would include items based on the Ratchet and Clank video game series.

The developers provided a breakdown of the buy Rocket League items crossover with Insomniac Games, the creators of the Ratchet and Clank video game franchise, in a post on the PlayStation Blog. A number of new items are included in the DLC, including the Ratchet and Clank Punk Decal for the Octane, Negatron Collider Boost, the Clank Balloon Topper, and both Ratchet and Clank Balloon Toppers. In the words of Jeremy Dunham Rocket League item prices, product and content strategy director at Psyonix, being able to bring the series to Rocket League item trading prices was "a dream come true.""At Psyonix, we're huge fans of Ratchet Clank, and it's one of the most iconic franchises in the history of the PlayStation," he said.

Until January 3, 2022, fans of the Lombax and his metal companion will be able to obtain the in-game items, even though the new DLC will be released on August 18. These new items are completely free, and all that is required of players in order to claim them is to sign into  on either a PlayStation 4 or a PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, the new content is only available on Sony consoles, which is a disappointment for those who are playing the game on other platforms.

With the release of this new DLC, players will now be able to view their new Ratchet and Clank gear in higher quality thanks to the introduction of a new Video Quality setting for those using the PlayStation 5. Players can choose between two different presets in the Quality and Performance sections of the configuration menu. Quality mode offers 60 frames per second gameplay at 4K resolution, as well as the inclusion of HDR for displays that support it. Performance reduces the resolution to 26881512 but maintains a frame rate of 120 frames per second. This means that PS5 players will be able to play the game at higher frame rates for the first time, something that Xbox Series X/S players have been able to do for quite some time.

It's understandable that the developers would want to include the Ratchet and Clank DLC in Rocket League's expansion pack. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, developed by Insomniac Games, was released recently for the PlayStation 5. The third-person shooter platform game allows players to take control of Ratchet and Rivet as they attempt to take down Emperor Nefarious in the third-person shooter genre Rocket League items. The game has gone on to become one of the most popular titles on Sony's next-generation console. The inclusion of items based on the series' most iconic characters serves to raise the level of excitement surrounding both games.

This announcement comes at a time when Season 4 of Rocket League is in full swing. To go along with the addition of the Ratchet and Clank DLC, the game's developers have also added new 2v2 and Extra Mode Tournaments. With the addition of a Desert arena and the introduction of a new Rocket Pass that can be purchased, players appear to have no shortage of things to look forward to in the game.
