Beautiful beaches, tropical forests, agriculture, and quaint fishing towns may all be found in this region of northwest Malaysia. George Town, the capital of Penang Island, is a free and fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site with of colonial buildings, temples, and museums. 

Escape Penang is the place to go if you want to get away from the beach and go for a ride on the world's largest waterslide in the middle of a jungle. The 230-foot drop from the top of the 3,645-foot slide takes riders into the treetops. For some culture and history, go to George Town's Kek Lok Si Buddhist temple or the Penang State Museum and Art Gallery. You may also visit the Penang Botanic Gardens and the Tropical Spice Garden to take in the stunning native vegetation.

The beachside Shangri-La Golden Sands, Penang has stylish, reasonably priced accommodations and is conveniently located near Batu Feringgi.  You may get away from it all in style at a reasonable price in this sleepy fishing resort on Malta's northern coast.  

Malta has the kind of Mediterranean beaches you would anticipate. The shoreline consists of white sand, clear water, and small, jagged rocks. From St. Paul's Bay, visitors may set sail toward Comino's Blue Lagoon. A traditional Maltese festa (or, village feast) honoring Our Lady of Sorrows takes place here at the end of July, complete with processions and fireworks. The National Aquarium of Malta may be found at St. Paul's Bay as well.
