The Diablo II: Resurrected developer and publisher, Vicarious Visions, and Blizzard Entertainment, have provided additional information about the game following its fiery technical beta and full release with only a few weeks left to go. This information includes why players will not be able to use the full width of their 21:9 screens when Diablo II: Resurrected launches.

At BlizzCon earlier this year, D2R PC runes was announced that a complete remaster of the cult classic action role-playing game Diablo II: Resurrected would be released. The game was originally released nearly two decades ago and has since become a cult classic among video game fans everywhere. A new Dolby 7.1 surround sound mix, 3D visuals, new animations, and spell effects were all teased by Blizzard Entertainment, and all of these features were later confirmed. Players who wanted to participate in the test were required to sign up in order to do so, and the title was chosen for a private technical alpha test that took advantage of its features in a short period of time. Even though Diablo II: Resurrected has a smaller screen size of 19:9 rather than the full 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio that was seen in the previous alpha test, the open beta for the game began last month anyway. Aspect ratios of 21:9, according to the developers, allow enemies who are targeted from a greater distance to simply fail to recognize that they are being attacked and, as a result, fail to react to the attack. During the beta period, the company acknowledged that players who had purchased expensive ultrawide monitors were irritated by the black bars that appeared on their screens during gameplay. The company has stated that it will continue to look into possible solutions that do not alter how players interact with the game, implying that a fix may be available after the game's release. Due to the fact that the wider aspect ratio provides players with an unfair advantage, ultrawide mode has been removed from some competitive games in the past. Overwatch, for example, has completely removed ultrawide mode from its game. This holds true in particular now that crossplay has been implemented. Crossplay will not be available in Diablo II: Resurrected; however, cross-progression, which allows players to carry their progress across multiple platforms, will be available in the game. Aside from that, the company has stated that additional changes will be implemented to the console lobbies when a full version of the game is released. As a result of a significant change, players will be able to easily group with others based on different activities; however, the ability to create custom lobbies will not be included, despite numerous requests.

The legendary series will be continued in 4K with Diablo II: Resurrection, which will be released later this month, twenty years after the original game's release. People who participated in the beta can expect to see a remastered version of their favorite hack-and-slash adventure, while Blizzard continues development on the highly anticipated next installment in the Diablo series, Diablo 4 (which is set to be released later in the year).
