Does This Sounds Familiar?

Why did you decide to create your first line? Tokyo makes me happy that one of my best friends who moved to Japan still sees me playing video games in person. So I started my stream to play my favorite game, the original Legend of Zelda. What I quickly noticed was that when my friend wasn't on stream, I would just sit and talk without looking at him.

This happened to me a long time ago. My brother, my cousin, and my friends started my show. Even when God wasn't looking, it seemed like I had three to five spectators. It was a big challenge and I remember thinking, “Why am I doing this? When will people see it?” We all join the stream because we want casual viewers to be able to hang out and chat while playing our favorite video games.

But at some point, most of us have to learn to speak out loud for two hours, just in case the audience comes in and you want them to be interested in what you're playing. I looked at the watchlist for a month or two hoping a new name would pop up, but it was mostly empty. So what did I do to attract an audience?

How Do I Get Viewers and Followers on Twitch?

As you learn how to get more Twitch followers and viewers, inviting new viewers to your stream can make a big difference. Building a community on Twitch is an important factor in keeping viewers coming back to your stream. The trick that worked for me sounds like common sense, but it took me a few months to realize it.

What changed everything for me was when I realized that if I always left the viewer list open, I could keep an eye on when a new viewer joined my stream. I see NewViewer123 in the viewer list and say “Well! A viewer!”, I think. I could see her there for a few minutes and then poop... IT WAS GONE! “Damn, they didn't say anything!” I remember thinking that.

So why would someone suddenly talk to me out of the blue? They don't know who I am, what I am, and why I'm a great channel to watch. Plus, there are 5 million other streams to enjoy, so why bother? It was a little overwhelming at first, but it was a great discovery that led to my #1 tip on how to get more viewers on Twitch and convert them into followers!
