These kinds of people are who we have to thank for those memories. It's not the high-ups over at Amazon or Activision Blizzard.

Steamforged Games have announced that it will partner with creator Jagex which will see the release of RuneScape to tablet devices later this year. The MMORPG will receive not just one, but two brand new tablestop versions: a game board game and a tabletop RPG game. The board game will launch on Kickstarter early in the year, while the tabletop RPG will be available in stores immediately.

Both games draw their inspiration from the world of Fantasy in RuneScape, Gielinor. The games will feature those characters, adventure and places of the MMORPG has become famous for throughout its long time. The board game will take one to five players on an adventure based on quests through the lands of Gielinor.

According to the official announcement made by Steamforged players play "craft and upgrade equipment to improve their character, prepare special meals, interact with NPCs, and test their skills while exploring various regions of the world". Similar to the multiplayer MMORPG, players can also discover side-quests to flesh out the game's world.

Meanwhile, the TTRPG is expected to comprise the most beautiful and illustrated core book filled with the necessary details for players who want to play the RuneScape TTRPG. With it, players can create their own characters and set off for the lands of Gielinor to embark on "unique and exciting adventures". Furthermore, the TTRPG guidebook will be "fully aligned with rules of fifth edition of the world's favorite tabletop role-playing game".

This new venture will be the first time that RuneScape is available without a digital platform and this is something Jagex President Phil Mansell is excited about:
