1. According to the electrical performance to distinguish, lead-acid batteries can be divided into two categories: (1) power batteries (2) rv batteries deep cycle. The biggest difference in the battery's interior is the lead plate. The lead plate of the power battery is spongy, and the dense lead plate is used for the deep-cycle battery. Almost all lead-acid batteries sold on the market are power batteries, and deep-cycle batteries need to be bought by professional shops.

2. Because the lead plate of the power battery is spongy, its effective surface area is much larger than that of the dense lead plate. Within 10 seconds or 20 seconds after starting the battery, the starting current is very large, which is suitable for starting the car motor, so it is called the power battery.

3. After the battery is used for a long time, the surface of the lead plate will fall off. The cavernous lead plate will become larger and larger, the effective surface area will become smaller and smaller, and soon the power battery will be scrapped. For the dense lead plate, after the battery is used for a long time, it only falls off the surface, and the effective surface area will not be reduced. So deep cycle batteries last longer than power batteries.

4. The capacity of the battery is calculated in Amp-Hour. If the 100 amp hour battery is used as an example, the power battery must be recharged for the remaining 50 amp hours, or the battery will be scrapped. The deep cycle battery can be used for the remaining 25 amp hours before it needs to be recharged. This is the meaning of the word "deep" in deep-cycle batteries.

5. It has already been explained that the life of deep-cycle batteries is longer than that of power batteries. In other words, there are a lot of discharge and charge cycles. This is the meaning of the word "cycle" in deep-cycle batteries.

6. If a 100 amp hour battery is taken as an example, the price of a deep-cycle battery is 2 to 3 times more expensive than a power battery.

Charge time: The average charge time of a battery is hard to tell. It all depends on the type of battery and charger used. Getting the battery fully charged can be a lengthy process, taking 2-10 hours. If you are using a smaller deep-cycle battery charger, it may take longer.

Easy to use: Connecting the battery charger should not be a difficult process. In general, you just need to clamp the positive and negative clips, plug the charger into the outlet, and let it go. However, on some chargers, you may need to mess with the Settings beforehand. Finding an automatic charger that can adjust the battery accordingly will save you time and lead to faster charging.

To ensure a good clean charge without interference, clean the battery terminals before connecting the clamp.

Do not clip the positive cable to the negative, and vice versa. They're all color-coded for easy viewing.

Be sure to remove the key from the ignition and turn off all lights and the circuit connecting the battery charger.

Do not use a battery charger when the battery or terminal is wet. This may ignite the battery or cause a spark.
