Based on senior game design Scott Burgess, who recently spoke with GameSpot Diablo 2 Resurrected Items, Blizzard knew following Diablo Immortal's announcement that gamers wanted to play Diablo Immortal on PC.

Combined with the realization that dedicated PC players would use mobile emulators to access the game playing on PC and vice versa, Blizzard began the process of creating the PC version to make sure that players will enjoy an authentic PC experience. In regards to the reason it took so long to officially announce Diablo Immortal for PC, Burgess said it came down to polish.

"Part one of the reasons why we have waited so long is that we wanted to be sure the game's quality was at a level where we were satisfied with it and pleased to launch it simultaneously with the launch on mobile," Burgess said. "We are confident that it's at an excellent point."

Diablo Immortal will feature numerous similar elements to MMOs, such as multiplayer hub towns and eight-player raids. PvP battlegrounds, as well as the massive Cycle of Strife system. These are all firsts for the franchise and some aspects of them--such as different PvP modes and the idea of a hub town that is multiplayer that originated during Diablo's development.
